I ask that you read this privacy notice carefully as it contains important information on who I am, how and why I collect, store, use, and share personal information, your rights in relation to your personal information, and on how to contact me and supervisory authorities in the event you have a complaint.

Who I am
I am a lawyerand I collect, use, and am responsible for certain personal information about you. When I do so, I am regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union including in the United Kingdom and I am responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

The personal information I collect and use
The type of information that I may directly collect from you, depending on how you use my Website includes:

  1. your name;

  2. your email address;

  3. your address (business and personal);

  4. your landline and mobile telephone numbers (business and personal);

  5. any other information that you choose to provide to me when filling out a contact form on my website;

  6. your geographic location (country/territory where you reside and/or work).

Information collected from other sources
In most circumstances, the personal data I obtain from or about you will be restricted to general information, including the information needed for the identification checks that I am required by law to complete. I may also need to obtain sensitive personal information from other sources as follows:

  • Information given by others to me about you to allow us to do my work, these typically include but are not limited to:

    • ​Professional managers and agents

    • Clients

    • Individuals or companies who have referred work to me

    • Banks and building societies

    • Medical professionals

    • Lawyers and accountants, in connection with contracts, transactions and consultations

How I use your personal information

  • When you fill in the Contact Form, I collect your Personal Information, which you choose to provide when you fill in the form on my Website, including the information set out in 1-6 above. I may use this Personal Information to respond to your queries, and/or provide the services and/or information that you have requested.

  • Following/liking/subscribing to my social media pages

  • I will primarily use your information internally for my business purposes which including but not limited to:

    • ​record keeping, statistical analysis, internal reporting and research purposes;

    • ensuring network and information security;

    • Considering our ability to do legal work for you;

    • Communicating with you, including delivering details about my services;

    • notify you about changes to my services;

    • to investigate any complaint you make.

Who I share your personal information with
I may routinely share your Personal Information with the following third parties: my accountants, auditors, lawyers or similar advisers when I ask them to provide me with professional advice; any other third party if I am under a duty to disclose or share your Personal Information in order to comply with any legal obligation, any other third party for the purposes of acting in accordance with the requirements of a court, regulator or government agency. I will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law.
 

I will not share your personal information with any other third party.

How long your personal information will be kept
I will hold your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the information was collected or as required by law.
 

Transfer of your information out of the EEA
None of the personal information that we collect, process or store is transferred outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) unless necessary for the purposes of fulfilling my contractual or professional obligations to my clients and in circumstances where my clients have a legitimate expectation of our sharing such information in the manner it is shared.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have a number of important rights. In summary, those include rights to:​

  • fair processing of information and transparency over how I use your use personal information

  • access to your personal information and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Notice is already designed to address

  • require me to correct any mistakes in your information which I hold

  • require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations

  • receive the personal information concerning you which you have provided to me, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations

  • object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for direct marketing

  • object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you

  • object in certain other situations to my continued processing of your personal information

  • otherwise restrict my processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

  • claim compensation for damages caused by my breach of any data protection laws

Keeping your personal information secure
I have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. I limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. I also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. I will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where I am legally required to do so.

Changes to this privacy notice
I may change this privacy notice from time to time, when I do I will inform you by publishing the updated Notice on my Website.
